Experiences Which Have Most Influenced Your Life

Malam ini saya sangat tersentuh ketika mengedit aplikasi beasiswa seorang sepupu. Ini tentang jawaban dia untuk bagian "Experiences Which Have Most Influenced Your Life".

Lantas saya minta dia mengisinya dan ini jawaban dia (unedited version, but I deleted the names of the organisation):

first experience: during my occupation at P, which is my first introduction with human rights issue, i had one overwhelming moment that will change my perspective about life. While I was collecting primary data for the research about Indonesia's rights to health case, i planned to interview Mr Opik whom his child suffered for polio disease because of malnutrition. I figured that he supposed to be an ordinary farmer or villager who lived in beautiful suburban and had a good country life. So, i went to his place at Sukabumi , West Java. To went there, I was taking a bus then followed by ojek (motorcycle taxi). Well, it turned to be a long way to go to Mr Opik place because he lived in very remote area up in the mountain, it takes one hour on the motorcycle, off road, crossed bushes, rivers, and rocky mountain. At last i arrived at his house, my first impression was, how can he managed to live up here, he lived not in flatland, a cliff actually, his house was very small even smaller than my room, he lived with five family member, a wife and four child. He was unemployed, he was a freelance labour and landless farmer. He was very fragile, he said that the disease was not anyone fault he did not expect anything from his government at the first time and he did not know anything about his rights as a Indonesian citizen and as a human. Of course, because his case became popular, he got government attentions after all. but the point is, I just can believe there are people actually lived in that condition, with no electrical house hold, clean water and most important, continued income. After that i realized the world is not just us, that we have to do something to eliminate the gap and disparity between urban people and those who live at remote area like Mr Opik and recently i found that there are a lot of them with more worse condition.

Second experience: On my second occupation as a public defender assistant for L, i experience a lot of heartbreaking moments. One of that moments was when one of my client, Dadang, 25 years old, was detained at police station because he was accuse tried to break out the ATM machine. Actually, Dadang worked for the company that had an agreement with banks to delivered and filled money to the bank's ATM machine. he was accuse by his employer that he toke the money while he filled the money into the machine. Dadang swore that he never toke the money and he suspected that he was the victim of his employer's conspiracy, from the evidences and witness testimony we decided to believe him . After several trial, process we managed to convinced the judges to free him out, outside the prison building he down into his knees and pray to god and then he cried, i felt an unspeakable feeling, although we not yet won the case at that time, on that moment, I know that I had experienced and practiced ,not law, but justice. We won the case after that, but the prosecutor still challenged the case, but i have faith that we will not lose the case, because i believe as long as we based our advocacy with the values of justice which is not debatable, there are no reason to convict Dadang as a guilty party on this case. This case is convince me to always practice, not only law, but justice. So i decided to have an in-depth analysis about social justice from it core and then become an expert on this subject, so in the future, we the human rights defender, will have a strong reason to challenge the human rights violators.
Tersentuh nggak? Saya tersentuh.

Now, what are YOURS? No, you don't have to write them down or tell me about them. Just think about it. It's nice.
